Ugly Staircase Revamp PART 1
This split level entry was beastly looking! Nasty carpet runner and worn out wood was simply tragic. what did we do?
1) I stripped the carpeting off (they used 3″ nails to hold this down!)
2) stripped the varnish off the landing, using a stripper!
3) Using tape I created a pattern and painted the lines white
4) I took dark stain and went over the top of the entire landing and made sure the decorative lines I painted showed through. After that I sealed the landing and painted the stair case getting ready for our new carpet runner.
I do not recommend doing this in middle of winter and when anyone is home having the dogs and kids trying to up and down while I was working was quite a pain especially when they were tracking in ice and mud. Make sure you watch the progress VIDEO and follow us!
